Casa do Bispo is a mansion dating back from the 18th century. It is situated very near the historical center of Tavira and yet the little square with its palmtrees and two churches is a calm spot just around the corner of the din of the city
Rumours have it that once there lived bishops in this house. Hence the name : Casa do Bispo
Although the house is old and the walls are thick Casa do Bispo offers you all the comforts of the 21ste century (like renovated bathroom, modern kitchen, speed-internet, 200mb!). One of its assets is the enclosed garden with loungers under a palm and a orange tree (go to the photo gallery for more).
Tavira is a pittoresque little town with white houses and an enormous amount of restaurants. Say fresh fish and you say Tavira. Tavira is also the starting point for trips along the coast, to the Algarve hills or the the beaches. It takes just 30 minutes by ferry to get to the ‘Ihla da Tavira’ with its broad stretches of white beaches
The south of Portugal -the Algarve- is not very expensive, has got at least 300 sunny days a year, a country side with narrow roads and orange groves (take the bikepath ‘Ecovia‘ to discover all that beauty the slow way) and pin top of that a welcoming population.
